Bath Solarcycle
Cycle Network and Terminal

We were called to design a regenerative intervention for the site, in the form of a connector or a node.
While cycling reduces the carbon footprint of transport, cycling within Bath is challenging, with limited cycle-only lanes, posing a safety risk to cyclists and pedestrians alike.

Bath Solarcycle is a city-wide cycle network which aims to generate a cultural shift away from cars and towards cycling. Solar panels embedded into the floor of the cycle path provides renewable energy. The Riverside Terminal lies on the site, providing cycling facilities, hospitality and green spaces. Users will be able to roam the rewilded parks, get a drink in one of the coffee shops and picnic by the river. The cycle path passes through the terminal, allowing users to join and leave the network.
